Antro of Corchia
89 km away from our Hotel

The Antro del Corchia, with its approximately 53 km of tunnels and shafts, holds the national record for the largest underground karst system. The difference in height, with its 1187 m of height between the opening and the higher end of the cave is one of the highest traceable in Italian and European territory.

The special feature of karst system of Corchia lies mainly in its extreme morphological complexity and evolution. It is actually a three-dimensional lattice enclosed in a volume of marble and dolomite about 2 km long, 1 km wide and nearly 1200 m high.

A trail, about 1 km, allows tourists to penetrate inside the Corchia and reach the heart of the mountain and karst system.
